| Coach's Report: |
Another year has gone, and once again I have enjoyed another year coaching the next new breed of footballers into the Doncaster Junior Football Club, and hopefully, for the lucky few, into the AFL.
The season began without an oval to train on but thanks to John and Darren they found some old run-down cow paddocks to train on (ha ha ha ha). The first training session began with Adam and I not knowing exactly how many kids would show up. What a fantastic surprise when 30 eager kids turned up to train. (Adam and myself were scratching our heads with so many kids). As our training afternoons continued, it was great to see all the parents would bring down picnic rugs and baskets full of food and drinks, and really enjoy watching their kids train.
The season began with a "bye" for Tackers White, which was a disappointment for them, but once the following week came and they played their first game, their enthusiam never changed for the rest of the season. (Perhaps with the exception of the couple of games when it was really cold!)
Many thanks to Mary who made a great Team Manager (even though she was nervous at the start). Once she was comfortable in her role (and what a great group of parents we had helping her) she found it a breeze. Thanks to the helpers Lou , Peter, Corey, Rob, Harry, Craig (for all the lollies for the kids), Joanne, and Mary’s husband John. Last but not least, special thanks to Adam - it was great to have you their for all the support throughout the year - thanks mate! Hope we can share the same comic mateship next year.
Finally to most important group of people at the club. The kids from Tackers White - thanks to all of you for making my job on Sundays enjoyable to coach, and to see you develop and grow in your ability to play the game we call footy. Not only were we their to play footy and enjoy ourselves, but we also became good friends. Boys, the footy season will begin again before we know it, and I hope to see you all again next year.
GO GATS!!!
