Wow, what a season it’s been for the Under 10’s.
Starting the season with only 6 players it looked like being a tough one. Through the tireless efforts of our team manager Barb Sorell, who ensured that every week we had enough players to field a team. Her recruiting efforts meant that by the end of the season we had 18 Under 10 players.
Even though we didn’t have the success on the score board we would have liked, the experience, mateship and lessons learnt throughout the season will hopefully stay with the players for the rest of their lives. For many players it was their first season of playing competitive football. It was great to see the improvement in all players as the season progressed. This can be attributed to Ken Curran who ran training on Wednesday nights. As a result of Ken’s hard work the Under 10’s became a team, and not 18 individuals. Many opposition coaches commented on how competitive we had become, upon playing them a second time.
To all the players who played this season, congratulations on an outstanding season. You all know what can be achieved with a little hard work and team work. With the skills that have been learnt this season, next season should be a ripper!
Thanks to all the parent helpers who willingly gave up their Sundays to help out. I’m sure your kids get a kick out of you taking an interest in their football. Thanks to all the players who filled in for us during the season, and thanks to John Reid and the committee for their hard work.
Until next season...
Go Cats!!!
